Wheelchair Basketball
Wheelchair Basketball is the largest and one of the blue ribbon leading Paralympic Sport, with its roots going back to the late 40's. Although initially a rehabilitation and recreational activity for spinal cord injured patients, it quickly developed into a competitive sport and today there are over 80 wheelchair basketball clubs across the UK competing in the National League.
Wheelchair Basketball embraces a wide range of disabilities including paraplegics, spina bifida, amputees, brittle bones, cerebral palsy and multiple sclerosis. Able bodied players are eligible to play up to division one and in the junior league and women's league. Virtually everyone who can conceivably play wheelchair basketball is encouraged to do so.
Wheelchair Basketball is one of the two new sports to be included in the Sainsbury's UK School Games this year."

Wheelchair basketball play with exactly the same size court and the same height hoops as running basketball.
Structure
British Wheelchair Basketball will host at this event 6 teams, three from England (North, Central and South) and the three home nations who will compete in two pools.
After the pool games the top 2 teams in each pool will play off in the Semi Finals to make it into either the Gold or Bronze Medal game. The 3rd placed team in both pools will play in the 5th /6th Classification game.
