Over the course of the Games, we've seen a whole raft of support for every athlete that took part in the competition.
From former sporting champions acting as athlete mentors for the budding young athletes to volunteers and officials across 12 sports, giving up their time to support the young stars and ensure the smooth running and fair play at events. Amongst the group of supporters were seven young reporters who produced a four page supplement for the Sheffield Star newspaper. Their job? To act as real life journalists and report on all the sporting action, interview the athletes, athlete mentors and former and current Olympic champions. They were even put through the paces by BBC sports writer, Matt Slater.
